Brief 01: In this module you will work on an innovate limited edition Scottish whisky set for one of the Chivas Brothers brands. You will be required to strategically select a partnering brand for the limited edition, define an appropriate art direction and then create three design elements:
1. A branded ‘companion product’
2. A label design for an existing bottle
3. A gift box which utilises unconventional/sustainable materials.
Brief 02: Choose a whisky brand and create a limited edition package with a separate company. Design a label, package and side product of choice.
My project was a partnership between Ballantine's Whisky X Tomorrowland music festival. I designed packaging, a label and a 'bum bag' side product for my younger target audience of festival goers.
This project was our last design brief of third year and provided me with the needed confidence going into 4th year. Unfortunately this was during the beginning of the pandemic and therefore, I had to make all of my material purchases earlier than planned. I was happy with my final output, as I used the 'stay at home' duration learning how to sew the bum bag together through trial and error.
My design capabilities on CAD improved greatly during this period while testing around with the whisky housing packaging. I was able to use my already proficient skillset on Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to develop the graphics for the label.
